Youth On Their Own (YOTO) truly values the time, expertise, and talents of our volunteers. Following are opportunities currently available to assist Youth On Their Own students and staff. Opportunities vary in scope, frequency, and time commitment – there is a role for everyone! Volunteers assist YOTO to keep its cost of providing services low, which enables the agency to serve more students in need.
In general, the volunteer age requirement, particularly for those who work with students, is 18 years of age or older. Groups of youth under 18 years of age should contact the agency for available opportunities.
Contact Heidi Reynolds-Stenson, Volunteer/Development Coordinator, at 293.1136 x 202 or hstenson@yoto.org if you are interested in volunteering or need more details on a specific position. Or fill out and mail/fax to the office the Youth On Their Own Volunteer Enrollment Application located on this web page, and we’ll be in touch with you. Thank you! |

Touch Point Connection (TPC), in collaboration with YOTO, launched a coaching program in August 2008 at Amphitheater High School. TPC, a local nonprofit, provides volunteer coaches for teens who may be at-risk of dropping out of high school. The organization’s founders and staff are professionally trained and certified coaches and provide community volunteers coaches with training and support.
YOTO students attending Amphitheater High School will be eligible for coaching during the 2009 – 2010 academic year. School counselors make the student/volunteer matches. Each volunteer is matched with one teen; students meet with their personal coach for approximately 45 minutes each week, at school, during the school day when school is in session.
For TPC contact information, further details, and Community Volunteer FYI Gathering Session dates, please visit www.touchpointconnection.org. |
